2023 WEST VIRGINIA SUMMER MISSION
We left on Saturday, July 8, to travel to Webster County, W.V. for our 35th year of serving the Lord on this mission field. While we were there we had the opportunity to build a Handicap Ramp for a lovely, 87 year old Christian lady who has been disabled for many years without any means of getting out of her home without assistance. Her mobility is restricted to a walker and wheelchair. Before we left her, we had the joy of seeing her leave her house, by herself, without anyone helping her. this was a very emotional time for her and us, as she had not been able to do this for 8 years. Praise the Lord!
In addition, we shared in worship services around the county. On Sunday morning we brought the Word and Worship at Barton Church in Curtain, W.V. and 1st United Methodist church of Webster. On Sunday evening we share Jesus’ Words of Life at Beaver Run Christian Church in Bolair. Then on Wednesday evening we preached at the Bendertown Evangelical Church in Hacker Valley. It was an exciting time of singing praises to the Lord with our Brothers and Sisters in there remote congregations. God is so good! He provided for every aspect of the Mission. To God be the glory!
2022 WEST VIRGINIA SUMMER MISSION
On Saturday July 16, through Friday July 22, our mission team was serving in the hills of West Virginia with Jimmy and Luella Utt, directors of the Webster County Christian Work Camp.
We work in Diana, W.V. At the home of an elderly couple, Dan and Jean Tenney, that were in need of having their decaying porch steps torn out and replaces with a new porch and wheelchair ramp.
During the week Pastor Bob and the team will be leading worship and bringing the Word of God at Barton United Methodist church in Curtin, and 1st United Methodist Church in Webster Springs. On Wednesday evening at the Bendertown Evangelical Non-Denominational Church in Hacker Valley and on Thursday evening at the Upper Glade Presbyterian church in Cowen.
Every evening we had a gathering to share in worship singing and a devotion time that we always had several people from the area join us. It is always a great time.
It was a tremendous week, but not without it’s challenges. The weather was unpredictable. One minute we were working in the blistering heat, and the next minute it was pouring down rain. Another obstacle was the absence of materials. We had to do a lot of driving to secure the lumber, screws and concrete need for our project. But God Is Good! He always knows exactly how much material we would need and already had set it aside for us. A great big thank you and praise for the Lord, (once again) using James Hammer Saw Mill in Curtin and T&J Lumber in Replete, for donating more than 45 Red Oak boards. This enabled us to complete the task God set before us.
At the end of the week we gave thanks to Jesus for the protection and provision He was toward us. After leading teams to this mission field for 34 years there are many people we have grown to love like family. It was great seeing our old friends and we made a few new friends. Thank you to the many people who lifted us up in prayer throughout the week and also those who supported us in other ways. God used all of this for His glory
WHOSOEVER GOSPEL MISSION TRIPS 2025-2026
We’ll be back at the mission on October 5, November 2, and December 7, then in 2026 we will be there on the February 1, March 1, April ??, May 3, June ?? at 4:00, when “HEART’S SONG” Praise Band will be ushering the men at the mission into the presence of God by leading them in worship singing, giving testimonies and hearing from God’s Word, as Pastor Bob shares an inspirational message. Immediately after the chapel we will be sharing a meal and conversation with the men. This is always an incredible time of hearing how The Lord is working in the lives of those God has led to the mission. Thank you Bob E. and Heather for allowing us to be a part of what God is doing is this ministry to the homeless and struggling. We continue to pray for the wonderful labors at the mission, Bob’s good health, Heather’s strength & direction and for God’s continued provision & blessings on the men being ministered to. Looking forward to partnering with the mission in 2023 & 2024, with many more years of sharing JESUS ahead of us.
