“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Why do God’s people pray? Prayer is a divine portal that the Lord has design so we can communicate with God the Father. There is incredible power and potential in prayer. Through prayer, we invite the God of all creation into our lives and the individual circumstances that we need His intervention. Prayer is important in changing these events and changing us. Through prayer, we have the opportunity to reach our full potential in Christ.
Jesus’ disciples asked Him, “Lord, teach us to pray.” As we learn to trust God more, we will find our prayer lives grow. We will become more in tune with His will and His purpose for us. Prayer is simply “Talking To God”. It’s not difficult, unless we make it difficult. Keep it simple. As we take small steps in our spiritual life, we will find our prayer life will grow also. When we talk to God with confidence in His will for us, and believe with our whole heart that He is able to do it, nothing is out of our reach through Christ Jesus.
“You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.” John 14:13
God will transform us into people of love, joy, and peace through prayer. Let’s become people of prayer for He will never be absent from us.
